One year, with time off for good behaviour
Since the football match, life here has been focused on winding down for the end of term. Clear up the classroom, sort out the books, learn the school song and dig out the dinner jacket for the end of year party. Meeting David Beckham in Almaty
The town is bustling with tourists. Not just tourists but touring football fans. About 1500 flew here from the UK this week in anticipation of this Saturday's qualifying game against Kazakhstan in the Almaty stadium. The team are here and training hard.

The majority of Kazakhstan is Steppe. As flat and boring as it might sound, it is worth a look. May Day weekend here was 4 days.
